The Fundamentals of Kinds of Essays
An essay is, by general definition, a literary piece that deliver the author’s argument, but the exact definition is sometimes vague, overlapping with that of a personal correspondence, a report, an article, pamphlets, and even a brief story. Essays have always been categorized as either formal or casual. Formal essays are written with the proviso that they conform to the suitable style and grammar, while casual essays are often written for fun or entertainment, without the consideration of the way the audience will translate it. The structure of formal essay differs from that of informal essays from the number of phrases used, in the amount of sentences included, and in the amount of topics mentioned.
Most commonly, essays fall into one of four classes. They can be descriptive or historical essay, expository composition, narrative composition, or essay. Historical and expository essays are written about events that occurred lately, but you need not justify your arguments in this manner. Narrative essays require you to tell a story with proof, normally from primary sources, which support your points of view.
Essays based on personal experience are called personal essays. In them the writer presents his/her personal experiences, either as a single individual or as part of a team or as an entire group of individuals. Historical essays cover major events that happened lately and draw on both the primary and secondary sources. Narrative essays present just personal experiences, occasionally with a few connections to the larger history. In the last two classes there are four main forms, each presenting its own advantages and disadvantages. I will discuss the four main types below:
Historical essays have been written about events which happened lately, either in the recent past or in the whole history of mankind. The most typical form of historic essay is the narrative essay, in which the writer relates his own narrative about a major event. Normally the focus of the essay is to warrant or highlight the most important point of the narrative, usually by arguing against an opposing view. Historical essays can take many forms, such as biographies, a survey of background, and arguments regarding specific events. To be able to write a fantastic historical essay, the author must be well researched and educated about the subject matter he/she will be writing about.
Expository essays, as its name implies, are written about preceding expository essays. Unlike a story essay, expository essays are all needed to make an argument. The disagreements in expository essays need to be well supported by secondary resources, preferably primary sources. Examples of secondary sources used in expository essays include diaries and personal letters, papers, magazines, and publications.
Argumentative essays are written for all kinds of reading purposes. They are written about any topic and might contain several distinct kinds of argument. The most normal debate in a descriptive article, which is also popularly called a strong essay, is one which presents some evidence, usually pointing out just how something occurred lately, or simply by linking it to something that has happened.
